Perth Amboy, NJ (PRWEB) February 28, 2013
Raritan Bay Medical Center Foundation is holding its 2013 Annual Inspirations Spring Art Show Thursday, April 18, 6 to 8 p.m. at Raritan Bay Medical Centers Perth Amboy Campus, 530 New Brunswick Ave. Photographic artist and advertising and marketing professional EJ Davis, of Chatham, NJ, will be the distinguished honoree at the event.
EJ has had such a positive impact on the Art Show; as the co-chair for the past seven years and as an artist, her work and passion have been inspiring, said Nancy Barone, executive vice president, Raritan Bay Medical Center Foundation. Many local artists with mediums including watercolor and oil paintings, wall sculpture, photography, jewelry, clay, glass and wearable art will be exhibited and for sale at this years show. Event tickets are available for $ 50 each. A cash raffle will be held, with tickets available at $ 10 each. Proceeds benefit the medical centers growth and renovation project Broadening Our Vision, Securing Our Future which includes renovations and enhancements, including private patient rooms that will create a more comfortable environment for patients and their families in the Wilentz Patient Care Center. As my vision and body of work evolves as I mature, I still find myself resonating to arcane urban landscapes, minimalist imagery and the beautiful flora that surrounds us. I am vigilant to find beauty no matter the environment and I embrace my photographic vision, which compels me to put what I see into print, EJ Davis said. Beginning her career in her familys corporation, JTC, a manufacturer of business forms and computer paper, then as a print broker, Davis is currently Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Alliance Design, Inc. She sat on the board of the American Cancer Society, Middlesex County Chapter and was chair of Daffodil week for a number of years.
During her life Davis learned how fulfilling it is to give to others. Little did she know she would in fact be diagnosed with breast cancer. Davis became an advocate for women stricken with this disease, and has dedicated herself to the Pathways Womens Cancer Teaching Project, of Summit, NJ, which provides free programs to residents, interns, nursing students and clergy and was brought to Raritan Bay Medical Center in 2011. This program uses real patients to tell their personal stories to show the humanistic side of having breast or ovarian cancer. Davis has been cancer free for six years.
Geraldine Fee, PhD and Cabbar Komek are committee co-chairs for the show. The co-chairs, as well as committee members: Julie Andreola, Nancy Barone, Deborah Chalfin, Michelle Constanzo, Irene Conte, Rozalia Czaban, EJ Davis, Christina DePack, Constance Elek, Cynthia Knight, Hector Motta, Susan Pasternack, Brandon Powell, Carol Rebovich, Rose Marie Sinatra, Tom Ward, and Norma Witkin work to ensure that the arts thrive in Central New Jersey communities. These individuals also demonstrate an unwavering commitment to the medical center through their community engagement.
This event was established to honor the memory of Jacqueline M. and Robert N. Wilentz and commemorate their longstanding dedication and support of the community. Throughout their lives they supported dozens of local community organizations with the objective of making things better for future generations.
