Absolutely stunning melted crayon art has been released on Kids Activities Blog together with a gallery of cool kids craft ideas. These activities will delight any child’s heart since it combines science with art and the creations look fantastic.
The melted crayon art project uses hot rocks to melt the crayons. Materials needed are large smooth rocks and crayons. Go on a rock hunt in the garden, wash the rocks, and bake them in the oven until they are hot. Break crayons into pieces and place a variety of broken pieces on the hot rocks. Watch the crayons melt together and cover the rock. Ensure that the heated rocks are handled by an adult and the kids are observed when placing the crayons on the rocks.
Let the rocks cool down. This will take over an hour. The rocks make great paperweights with a felt piece glued on the bottom or they can turn into “You rock” gifts for teacher and friends.
Super creative kids craft ideas include creating rainbow art out of scraps, building a play scene out of cardboard boxes, making wall string art, and making crafty Japanese dolls out of clothespins and creating a run for marbles or beans out of used plastic bottles.
Another amazing idea is making fuzzy rocks and let them dissolve as a science experiment in water. Making magical flying creatures out of pom poms and creating masks will keep the kids busy for hours.
Mix and play by building sculptures with play dough and blocks. Making drums from recycled items found around the house and making art based on kids favorite books are just a few of the cool ideas currently featured on Kids Activities Blog.

The menu features a variety of handcrafted pizzas, hoagies, salads, calzones and appetizers; each of these dishes use only the highest quality ingredients. Options for vegetarians, vegans and kids are available, along with gluten free menu options.
Located on the Tennessee River, this Rolling on the River inspired Mellow Mushroom is rooted in the owners interest in the history of the community but garnished with a characteristic Mellow twist. All Mellow Mushrooms are known as places that provide an entertaining experience in a unique art-filled environment, and this location is truly a one-of-a-kind experience:
One large piece of original art, inspired by the Grateful Dead album, Blues for Allah, has fiber optic lights embedded throughout this masterpiece, and is flanked on either side by giant lava lamps in niches. This mural sits on a brick wall, made from reclaimed bricks from historic buildings, which were once a part of this community. The Holmans and many of their family friends collected the bricks and cleaned them all by hand so they could be incorporated in to the interior.
Mellow characters Mel and Dude are presented above the open kitchen, where they look down towards the Hudson Memorial Bridge.
A stunning boat chandelier supplies a funky twist, an amalgam of vintage lights, crushed glass globes and disco balls suspended to create a special, warm glow.
This Mellow has something for everyone, including a seasonal covered/heated patio and plenty of community seating. To complement the dining experience, there is a full service bar with a great variety of craft beers, wines and cocktails. Mellow will feature live music once a week and will later announce many more exciting events to come!

Norwegian Cruise Line today debuts a New York City-inspired advertising campaign themed, The Best of NYC Sails to Sea to promote its new ship, Norwegian Breakaway which will be the largest cruise ship to homeport year-round in New York City. The new campaign includes an eye-catching, state-of-the-art digitally animated television commercial, print advertisements, various out of home elements, online media and new digital experiences on the Breakaway microsite that artfully render the New York City experiences found on board.
The Norwegian Breakaway television spot shows striking visuals of the Manhattan skyline cruising by the Statue of Liberty and out to sea atop Norwegian Breakaway, visually conveying that the best of NYC will sail to sea on Norwegian Breakaway. The new television spot will air on various networks throughout the winter and spring in New York, Boston and Philadelphia and can be viewed on the lines YouTube channel. There is also a Spanish version of the television spot that will air on Telemundo and Univision in the New York market. In addition, Norwegian has enhanced http://www.breakaway.ncl.com with new digital experiences that highlight the New York City experiences found on board and demonstrate how Norwegian Breakaway brings the best of NYC to sea.
